As technology continues to evolve rapidly, organisations are facing a growing challenge: the gap between available skills and real business needs. This “skills mismatch” is no longer just an HR issue. Instead, it has become a key barrier to productivity, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Today, businesses are not only looking for qualified profiles. More importantly, they need professionals who are immediately operational, adaptable, and comfortable working with digital tools such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity solutions.

According to Kelly Ramchurn-Morvan, Group Chief Marketing Officer at Cybernaptics, this shift requires a new approach to professional training:

“Training must respond to real market needs. What truly makes the difference today is hands-on, real-world experience. At Cyberskills, we don’t train just to learn — we train to be operational, employable, and effective in the real world.”

From Knowledge to Practical Impact

In this context, training institutions must go beyond theory. They need to anticipate market needs and design programs that deliver practical, applicable skills.

At Cyberskills, the focus is on building competencies that respond directly to what organisations are looking for today. Training programs cover essential digital skills such as Microsoft Office, as well as advanced tools including Power BI, Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Excel. In addition, learners can access internationally recognised certifications such as CompTIA, CCNA, CISM, and CISSP.

Skills, but Also Awareness

However, technology alone is not enough. Cybersecurity, for example, is increasingly recognised as a human challenge. In many cases, security breaches are linked to behaviour rather than systems. That is why Cyberskills also integrates IT Awareness Training, helping organisations reduce risks through better digital habits.

Accessible, Flexible, and Recognised Training

Founded in 2019 and supported by the Cybernaptics Group (est. 2009), Cyberskills operates across Mauritius, Madagascar, and Kenya. Training is delivered either on-site for hands-on learning or online for greater flexibility.

All programs lead to strong qualifications and include a certificate of completion. Some also lead to international certifications, depending on the course. In addition, programs are registered with the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA), enabling companies to benefit from HRDC refund schemes.

In Short

By aligning training with real market needs, Cyberskills plays an active role in reducing the skills gap and helping professionals and organisations stay competitive in a rapidly changing world.
